if you think that the few cells after conception are a baby, you may as well say that every sperm is sacred.

I am free!!! What Shall I do on this Meeting Night?
by KateWild inso i am at a loose end tonight.
i am not going to the meeting and sitting on the back row looking repentant no way!.
here are some options... care to add some if you wish, help me to decide.. 1. go to the meeting and sit in the middle, reading "einstein and religion" paperback, go in early and stay after the prayer.

i think you're starting to see it, usr. that was a nice example of circular reasoning, in this case also called begging the question.

Is it just me or has this site become a Believer/Atheist warzone?
by BU2B ini enjoy the odd thread about evoloution vs creation, etc but lately it seems that a large percentage of threads here devolve into fighting between atheists and theists and distract from what most of us here see eye to eye on, the wt and related things.
i wish things could be more civil here and fr people to realize that people will never see eye to eye on the topic.
it gets so tiring to see the contstant bickring and fighting on those threads.. they seem to go on page after page but very little of substance is discussed seeing as the existence or non existence of a god can be proven by anyone.

there are believers and there are non-believers. what's in between? half-believers? that doesn't exist. you either believe or you don't, and if you haven't come to a conclusion yet, you're still in one of those camps. you're either a believing agnostic or - more probably - an atheist agnostic.

"Jesus is My Boyfriend" Christianity
by cofty inthere is a trend in modern evangelical, charismatic and "non-religious spirituality" that gets dangerously close to erotic love of jesus.. it's something that i first observed during my christian years especially in the lyrics of christian songs and sometimes during open-prayer times.
if you haven't experienced open prayer you are the lucky ones.
everybody adopts the shampoo position - elbows on knees, head in hands - and whoever is "moved by the spirit" speaks up for a while, followed by an awkward silence, followed by two people speaking up at the same time, followed by silence, and so on.. anyway back to the topic, here are a few random examples .... "lord i give you my heart.

> It tells the opinion, belief, thought of a person respecting god/gods/higher being(s) or entity/entities.
no, it's not. agnosticism isn't an opinion, it's a statement that eventually leads to an opinion. you either believe in some sort of god or you don't. if you say you don't know if there's a god or not, you're still either a believer or a non-believer.

i'm was glad there were some atheists around when i first started to put the puzzles together. otherwise i might have ended up a born again christian or some other JW-like cult, since that's what i was used to. it took me a while, well over a year to label myself an atheist. in the meantime i was fine calling myself an agnostic.
